Yeah, we don’t get to appreciate enough, the contribution of a particular gender in the tech community. Many corporates globally have made strides over the last couple of decades with more and more women joining hands in their work force bringing in a balance that was much necessary.

At Spritle, the ladies are the real Alphas. Over the last 10 years, Spritle has evolved with the sole ideology to have a workplace with absolutely no disparity or bias of any sorts. This has given rise to an ecosystem that nurtures positivity and confidence to everyone, that equal opportunities lay in front of all to get out there and achieve heaps. The ladies here are the first ones to pounce upon client mentoring, event planning, organizational activities and decision-making calls proving their talents in all the domain they can. The environment, ambience, and just about everything around is so thought through and tailored for our female engineers to fit just right in. More than the obvious efforts, it is the feel in the air that is welcoming and delightful for women to motivate them to spread their wings and demonstrate their skills in an unbiased platform that can take them to the world.

Let’s hear what the Women @ Spritle got to say.

Just around time when the world celebrates Women’s day, we wanted to jump in and ask a few ladies from our family, a couple of questions to understand what they really feel like working at Spritle. Turns out, we’re right!

Rajeswari, Software Engineer

How long have you been with Spritle, and what have you worked on?
I have been working with Spritle for 7 years. I had worked on Ruby on Rails application development and delivered nice UI applications. Then got a chance to develop applications for cross platform mobile apps. Now I have been working in Angular app with really nice UI and interactions.
What motivate you?
Being a UI developer, newer technologies, libraries and frameworks always make me to try new things and learn and apply it wherever possible.

What’s the most interesting problem you’ve tackled?
In my current working app, our client has got only a minimal set of requirements while developing the initial scope. After few iterations and some beta releases with the client, delivered a nice UI where the client really liked it.

How you balance your work and life?
I prioritise my daily tasks, fixing a deadline for major tasks and complete it within the deadline. Enjoy outings with family in weekends.

Thilagavathi, Mobile Engineer

I couldn’t believe that I have completed three years at Spritle by now. I started my career as a web app developer for almost a year and slowly moved to Mobile App development where I got interested in developing mobile apps. I am now a React Native developer having couple of years experience and yet to learn new technology and to be updated. I feel Spritle is the right place for me to learn what I wish and to excel in that field.

What motivates you?
Work, of course!

Shanthi, Project Manager

How long have you been with Spritle, and what have you worked on?
I am being with Spritle for 4 years. I started my role as a Tester and moved to Project management and Project co-ordination roles in a couple of years and now being into operations management. I am happy that I play various roles here and trying to mingle with all my co-workers and helping each others in the ways we can.
What motivate you?
I believe Self Motivation is one of the motivation each individual have. Another factor I would say is my peers and colleagues support and appreciation motivates me to learn new things and to move forward in my work life.

What’s the most interesting problem you’ve tackled?
More than tagging as a “problem”, the most interesting “challenge” that I have tackled with the support of my team is to meet the crucial deadlines of delivering a project or a module in a short period of time. Sometimes, considering the priority of the clients, as a project manager, I over commit few things(Considering the Customer-relationship which is a key factor for the role I play) and with the help of my team members, we have delivered the committed tasks in a very short span just because of my team members dedication towards the work. I am proud to work with the people here, and tackling these problems or challenges, whatever, becomes tiny. I always believe in teamwork which overcomes the challenges that we face in our work environment.

How you balance your work and life?
Work-life balance becomes a big question mark in our current lifestyle especially for working women like us who got kids. I always feel good when I have my work-life balance in the good equilibrium state in Spritle. Being in Spritle in these many years, we always have the freedom to leave the work when family comes into our priority. But we, at Spritle never misused our freedom and always taken care that all our work has been done for the day and also the family has been taken care well.

How you balance your work and life?

Before marriage, it doesn’t matter because during that time single responsibility person so was concentrated more time in technologies at office and spend more time with colleagues. After marriage, I become responsible person to take care of my family.

After entering into motherhood, I became more responsible and need more time to spend with my son and now came to know the real meaning of what is Work and Life Balance. What motivates you?
Even the smallest goals that I achieve, keep me motivated, It may be the tasks that I finish on time or the appreciation that I get from my lead for a small work that I have done makes me happy and keep going. When I come up with a solution for the work I had been struggling for long or the creative things that I do on my weekends may be it a drawing or a doodle work, I feel refreshed for the week ahead. Spritle also plays a major role when comes to motivation, we have spritleXchange sessions, where we get to know about new technologies which leads us to do more and get new ideas. and my co-worker who always encourage me to learn new things and technologies. Am very thankful for Spritle and people around me who keep me motivated to do things.

What’s the most interesting problem you’ve tackled?
I started my career as a software developer with very less technical knowledge, as everything was a new to me, most of the things seemed to be a challenge (even now seems to be!!). I think we all should have the willingness to learn something from the problem. I noticed that the problems I face usually have some similar pattern, and the problems that I have already struggled to solve earlier leads to solutions and always increases our chances of finding a resolution faster. I always made it a point to learn something new from a problem and not just to solve the problem. Luckily I have good mentors to guide me and explain me things that are needed and am very thankful to all of them.

How you balance your work and life?
As am working away from home, I will have to take care of my own things but yes, very minimal things for now. As we are having flexible office hours, it’s not that hard to maintain things. Office like this, for people who are staying away from home, is bliss, it is like a second home as I spend majority of the time at office and where I get to learn so many things. During weekends, I give some time to myself, reading books, doodling or hanging out with friends will make me happy, and sometimes doing nothing at all! And I also try to make some time and go home to visit my parents during holidays.
